Some quick recycling tips: Check the Number - Only plastic items marked with #1, #2, or #5 can go in your curbside recycling bin. Plastics with other numbers should go in the trash. Keep Plastic Bags and Films Out - Items like plastic bags, bubble wrap, and plastic film can’t be recycled curbside. Many local grocery stores offer drop-off bins specifically for these materials! Clean and Empty - Make sure all food or liquid containers are empty and rinsed to help us keep the recycling stream clean. Holiday Update: Hammonton Town Hall will be closed on Friday, July 3rd, 2026. Friday’s trash pick-up will be collected on Thursday, July 2nd. The Hammonton Convenience Station will be closed on Saturday, July 4th. Bulk trash collection is always the first full week of the month, July 6th-10th. The Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA) is expanding its free recycling drop-off options for Atlantic County residents! Beginning May 1, 2026, residents will be able to conveniently recycle bulky rigid plastics, books, and oyster shells at designated bins located at ACUA’s Environmental Park in Egg Harbor Township. “ACUA's expanded drop-off area will provide additional opportunities for residents to divert waste from the landfill," said ACUA President Matthew DeNafo.
