Hammonton Town Hall offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 19th in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Trash collection on Monday will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 20th. Stockton University will be hosting the 22nd annual MLK Day of Service that features projects on campus at the Galloway, Atlantic City and Hammonton locations. PSA: Heads up! The Route 54 Reconstruction Project will close Bellevue Avenue in both directions between Valley Avenue and Liberty Street from January 19 to January 23. Work hours are set from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and a traffic detour will be in effect. Keep in mind that the schedule may change due to inclement weather. Expect delays and consider taking alternate routes, especially during busy travel times. Please be cautious in the area, and we appreciate your patience during this time. Thank you.

The Hammonton Fire Department responded to 604 calls in 2025 Calls sorted by NFRIS incident type: FALSE ALARMS: 156 RESCUE/MVA/EMS ASST.: 156 HAZARDOUS CONDITION/NO FIRE: 124 FIRE: 112 GOOD INTENT CALL: 15 SERVICE CALL: 35 SEVERE WEATHER: 5 SPECIAL INCIDENT: 1 38 incidents were mutual aid assistance to a surrounding community. In addition to their call responses, this entirely volunteer-based department participated in over 25 community events, supported a week of fire prevention visits, and completed numerous hours of training and re-certification courses. Did you know goats love Christmas trees? Please consider donating your tree to a local farm! Angels in the Pines Goat Farm LLC and Funny Farm Rescue are accepting trees this January. Hammonton residents can place their Christmas trees at the curb for collection during brush week, Jan. 12th-16th. Please be sure that all decorations, metal stands, lights, cords, tinsel, and plastic bags are removed from your tree before placing at the curb. Friel Reference: Fatal Helicopter Crash, Hammonton, NJ At approximately 11:25 AM on December 28th, 2025 the Hammonton Police Department received a report of an aviation crash between two helicopters. The midair collision was between an Enstrom model 280C and an Enstrom model F-28A which had both departed from the Hammonton Municipal Airport. The helicopters crash landed in a field and tree line in the 100 block of Basin Road. One helicopter was engulfed in flames. Important: Christmas & New Year’s Day Trash Schedule

PSA: There will be no recycling or trash collection on Christmas Day, Thursday, Dec. 25 or New Year’s Day, Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026. Both holiday collections will experience a one-day delay. Trash collection scheduled for Friday, Dec. 26 and Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, will proceed as planned without any postponement. Bulk trash collection week is Jan. 5-9, 2026. Town Hall will be closed on Christmas and New Year’s Day.
