Mark your calendars for Hammonton to become merry and bright! Downtown Hammonton comes alive for the holidays at the yearly Tree Lighting Featuring the Hammonton Gazette Elf Village, live music, dance performances and a special guest to light the Town Tree — what better way to kick off the holiday spirit?

  • Saturday, December 6 (Rain date: Dec 7)
  • 6-9PM
  • Central Ave, Hammonton

One of Hammonton’s most cherished traditions returns as the Annual Downtown Hammonton Tree Lighting takes place on Saturday, December 6th from 6:00–9:00 PM at the intersection of Bellevue Avenue and Central Avenue. Presented by our Gold Sponsors: AtlantiCare, Philip Carr of Crowley and Carr Real Estate and Bobby Capoferri, this festive evening will once again bring families, friends, and neighbors together to celebrate the magic of the holiday season.

This year’s celebration will feature The Hammonton Gazette Elf Village, offering families a charming, interactive holiday experience. Guests can enjoy holiday music, live performances, sing-a-longs, games, and activities throughout the night. At 7:00 PM, Santa Claus will arrive to officially light the Town Tree, marking the start of the holiday season in Downtown Hammonton. After the lighting, Santa will greet families inside The Bellevue (the former Wells Fargo building). Visitors can also enjoy free trolley rides that will begin after the ceremony, offering guests a festive tour of beautifully lit homes and holiday displays around the community.

“Our Tree Lighting is one of the most beloved events of the year,” says Ty Wilson, Executive Director of MainStreet Hammonton. “I’m honored to be part of such a meaningful tradition here in Hammonton, and grateful to have an incredible team working alongside me to bring our community the very best event possible. I also want to thank everyone who helps make this celebration happen each year—and all who contribute to making our Town Tree such a beautiful and iconic sight during the holidays.”

“One thing that is clearly evident in my short time here is how remarkable the support is for events like these. Community members, business owners, and local organizations step forward without hesitation, offering their help in any way possible. That kind of cooperation isn’t something you find in every town. Hammonton truly feels like one big neighborhood—people looking out for one another, pitching in, and taking pride in keeping this town the best it can be. That spirit is what makes this event, and this community, so special.”

MainStreet Hammonton’s annual lineup of free community events is made possible through the support of grants and generous sponsors. For this year’s Tree Lighting, we extend our sincere thanks to our event sponsors: Elite Athletic Training, The E&M Group at Nation One Mortgage Company, Hammonton Center, Howell & Bertman Law Office, Lions Club of Hammonton, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society of Hammonton and The Preservation of OLMC Festival
