The regular maintenance of the Town of Hammonton fire hydrants will begin today to maintain and improve water quality. Department upkeep also ensures that hydrants are properly working.
Flushing of fire hydrants will discharge sediment resulting in the possibility that some customers may experience short periods of “rusty” or discolored water. Temporary cold water discoloration is a normal occurrence during this type of cleaning and hydrant maintenance program. Any discoloration or interruption of water services should be minimal.
