Winter Sowing Workshop

Learn how to get a jump start on your spring seed sprouting with this easy method. Bring some empty milk jugs or other plastic containers with lids. We’ll provide soil and seeds, and instructions! This is an excellent way to start native plants from seed, since a lot of native varieties need ‘cold stratification’ – spending time in the cold – to trigger germination when the weather warms in the spring.
